rinse 2 x 95% EtOH

95% EtOH 48 h

clear in 1% (w/v) KOH 6 h

. ↓

Alizarin Red (50mg per 1l 2% (w/v) KOH) 3 h

. ↓

clear in 2% (w/v) KOH 24-48 h

. ↓

80:20 2% KOH:glycerol 24 h

. ↓

60:40 2% KOH:glycerol 24 h

. ↓

40:60 2% KOH:glycerol 24 h

. ↓

20:80 2% KOH:glycerol (store in this)

end result: bone red, cartilage blue
